SHAME!!!! As if every cop isn't corrupt and lawless enough as it is in this country, now the police union president Joe Gambali is callin for his cops to harass and keep tabs on everyone who says anything critical about cops. MERICA! And when I asked all of the cops if they were going to follow his orders all of them gave me the same answer as if they were reading from a script. And none of them said no.
I was pulled over by an Officer from Houston PD in April 2018. Id made an illegal manoeuvre switching lanes from a left turn only lane. When the officer found out Id just arrived from New Zealand on holiday he pointed me in the direction of his favourite Texas bbq joint and let me off a ticket with just a warning because I had switched lanes cautiously, there was nobody in the lane and I wasnt risking anyones safety. Appreciate the work you guys do and the way this guy handled a nervous tourist!
Aside from the initial officer getting my incident report incorrect, I feel like the process could have gone better. Im a pretty patient person to begin with, so other than having to wait for their system to update the corrections on my report, which is basically what took a good while, the people working there were okay. They werent rude to me, because I wasnt rude to them. However, there were a couple people getting impatient so they had to remind them that this process tends to take a while, which it did. FYI: no credit or debit cards, cash or check only. They do have an ATM inside.
The officer that arrested me was very nice. He was very gentle and made the handcuffs comfortable. The cruiser had ample space and was very clean. The booking process was smooth and not stressful. I would recommend being arrested by this department to anyone. 10/10.
I constantly see HPD officers doing more bad than good. 95/100 mph in a 60, just to get home. Today I saw one just park in a do not park zone, just because and go inside. No respect for the law. Hypocrites!
