Anvil always has great cocktails and fantastic service! I have been to several special events here as well and they always have an event menu perfectly tailored to the occasion. It can get quite crowded for special events, but Sunday nights are a nice relaxed time to go, too.
There is something that makes Anvil such an unpretentious, engaging and a unique experience. The staff are a cut above and the drinks are top notch. There is an extensive menu of spirits and unique cocktails.My review is short only because you have to try it out and make the decision yourself. The cocktail is only half of the experience. The other half is the ambience, staff and the company you bring.Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I will definitively be going back.Cheers!
IMO, Anvil is the best bar in Houston. Every drink is absolutely amazing; their bartenders really know their stuff through and through.Their 4 to 5 pm happy hour is the best around for half off their 100 list.Edit 12/28/18: Came back after moving away and so happy to see the place is still killing it. Corey was bartender; he managed to constantly converse with us on their different cocktails and custom ingredients all while tenaciously making a wide variety of cocktails for other patrons. 12/10 for outstanding service and delicious drinks!
This is my all time favorite go to bar. You can count on a solid drink here and they have plenty of boozy spirit forward cocktails. I also love their fall and Winter menus.
First time here. Very impressed. Great menu. The bartenders (shouldn't it be chemists?) are knowledgeable and did a great job of mixing up some great drinks for us. Awesome atmosphere.
