Great bookstore with fantastic selection, great people working. One of my favorite local spots!

This was my first time here and had a great experience! I usually buy books online (amazon) or if I absolutely need something right this second, I head to Barnes and Noble. I got into brush lettering and wanted an Archer and Olive dot grid journal. Theyre sold out everywhere online, but I saw them on the Brazos website so decided to pop in. Sadly, they didnt have any in stock, but I was told they had already placed an order to stock up. Will have to return! Other than that, the place was quaint! Its exactly what youd expect from a neighborhood book store. Small, quiet and clean. I was pleasantly surprised that they carried a ton of random journals/writing accessories. WHO KNEW CHRISTIAN LACROIX HAD A JOURNAL?!? I didnt, lol. They had all of the new books as well as a ton of lesser known books on contemporary topics. They also had a bunch of magazines! I only remember that they had fashion ones and a Houston city lifestyle type one. The workers were nice and greeted me once I got in the door and didnt harass me like at other bookstores. I liked the privacy and time to mosey around by myself. And when it was time to check out, they were super knowledgeable and friendly. (Thats how I found out that the next Archer and Olive shipment was on its way). Would definitely return!

The selection of books is expertly and elegantly curated. From art books to strange Russian and South American science fiction, through to fiction and childrens books, you wont be disappointed. The real star, though, are the knowledgeable and friendly staff, and the wonderful events. One of my favorite bookstores in the US, a stop whenever I am in Houston.

The staff and gentleman, who I am assuming is the owner, were super helpful and incredibly nice. They had tons of unique products, some of which I know are nearly impossible to find other than online. Also seemed to have plenty of events, but can't speak to those.

Support your local book stores!Great little shop with an excellent variety covering all genres. The staff there really knows their stuff. You can walk in and just describe a book you'd like to read, and they're more than willing to offer suggestionsStory time with Laura is great for the kids, she's really engaging and full of character. The bookstore also has dog friendly book readings as well. Love this place!
