There is a nice variety of food here to please most anyone. I enjoy coming for both breakfast and lunch. The service is fast and friendly, the food is good. My favorite is the Santa Fe salad, but the soup/salad combo is a great choice, too. My vegetarian daughter is happy to come here as there are many options for her, too!
I love this place for brunch on Sunday!! Excellent Benedict's, desserts and drinks! Food is excellent, seating not so much based off of what time of the day you go. But if it's in high demand you know it's good!
The manager there was very nice. Always great service at this location. Axel is the man, he is always very professional and gets my order just right every time. Great voice too by the way, he should really look into talk radio (voice overs) or something.
Not the greatest visit, because I have always really liked going to Black Walnut.I visited the location on Memorial Driveive, just outside of Downtown Houston after attending the Ballet with my sister to finish off celebrating our birthdays. It was around 9:30pm on a Saturday night. We ordered our meals at the main counter and the male cashier was professional and nice. My sister walked over to get drinks and I went to the bar. I was sent to the bar to get our dessert. The female bartender (I did not get her name, but she had tattoos) ignored me for about 5 minutes, while helping other people who walked up after me. It was more than obvious that I was there ahead of the others. After helping everyone else she approached me, I was calm and asked if she saw me or was she swamped and that's why assisting me was delayed, she just shrugged it off, handed me my order, I said "thank you" and she walked away.I have NOT been to a any Black Walnut since then.
Delicious! Nice quiet atmosphere. Order and eat at your own pace!! Had the turkey burger with sweet potatoes. Will definitely come back to try other dishes!!
