You need 2 days to see everything they have here. The Dinosaurs are Impressive, we saw some we never knew existed and the have everything placed in a chronological order. Then we went to the Egyptian exhibition, all I can say is it made is feel as if we were in a real tomb. Then there was a the mineral and gems exhibit. The exhibition on the Americas I really enjoyed, everything from Alaska to Aztecs. We will need to visit the museum again to take in the rest. Plus they have movies and a butterfly exhibit too.
Loved this place my favorite exhibit was the gem stone vault! We went during the weekend, and admission was free after 3pm! I don't recall which day, but its worth looking into. If you've never been its worth the trip.
My favorite museum in the city. It consistently has well curated special exhibits in addition to the standbys. The displays are well lit, informative, and there are multiple interactive opportunities throughout. Definitely a great way to kill an afternoon if it's hot or rainy out. Membership and tickets are cost effective and membership pays for itself quickly if you visit more than two or three times.
Excellent museum. Most (95%) of the displays were clean and in working order. Large collection of everything (bugs, bones, gems, artifacts, dioramas, etc.). Price may seem high but it is reasonable (cost per hour) because it assumes you will spend all day there (which you should). In fact, there is more to do there than you can reasonably do in one day. If you spent the entire day (open to close) there, you can probably see the butterflies and all floors of the museum but still not have time for the multiple theater or planetarium shows. If you like to read every placard (and research follow-up info on your phone like I do), it will take even longer. I recommend getting the membership if you are able to visit multiple times in one year.
Great place for kids who love learning, especially about dinosaurs or mummies. There is much more to the museum than just those but that's what my 5 year old really likes so we spent lots of time in those areas. We all really enjoyed the museum and will go back.Warning: The parking is ridiculously priced at $20 for non-members. Almost worth buying a single membership just to save on the parking.
