great unique home style burgers. the grim is my favorite. Ive been coming here for years and it hasnt really changed. the good thing is the the burgers are still delicious and a great value and the service is still friendly. the bad thing about not changing is that they still are cash only with the same cashier, there are interior decorations that look like that havent been cleaned in years and they certainly havent remodeled. Parking is still difficult and its still has that borderline structurally unsound feel. Ultimately there are other great burger places in Houston and I just dont go as often.
This was my first visit to Lankford's, and it's the exact type of place you'd expect to find a really good burger. I got the old fashioned burger and added cheese, and a friend and I split (by chance because of a mix up) an order of french fries and sweet potato fries. There are a lot of burger options, but none sounded as good as a standard cheese burger. You are limited mostly to street parking, and you'll need to bring CASH. They do not take credit cards. I'll be back.
Easily one of the top 3 or 4 burgers in Houston. It's not beautifully presented like some others, but the flavor is premium grade. One thing I love about Lankford is that they don't expend a lot of energy or resources on menu items other than their sandwiches and burgers. What I mean is: Don't come here for the sides or beverages. Come for an unforgettable burger.
Been eating here for 21 years. I typically come on Thursday for the chicken fried steak special. It's been a staple for decades. Let it be known that this is a greasy spoon restaurant. I've never had a bad meal here. The Patty melt is great. When chicken and dumplings special is served it's a treat. I have had the taco special and it was tasty. The location can get crowded parking wise and in 21 years of patronage I did have one bad experience. Not enough staff showed up and getting served took a long time, but once out of that many years is not bad.
One of THE top burger places in the city. Bring cash - only!! Love their regular burger, but there some fun variations to try. It's a converted, old-school neighborhood store so but the charm makes the food better, I feel. Definitely a must try if you're into rib-sticking food.
