Super helpful staff, million dollar location close to NRG, Medical area, restaurants, and shopping. Not a camping vacation type park, though charming for in the city.
UPDATE. The owner is a horrible person and doesn't care about others. He kicked out some people that were recovering from cancer on several occasions and doesn't pay his employees. That's why they all leave at 1 year. The grounds are old and worn out, the sewer backs up often and the laundry is grossly overpriced. Go to Lakeview instead. Quieter,cleaner,nicer, more amenities.
South Main RV Park is a quaint little park with 110 spots. It is in close proximity to MD Anderson Cancer Center. The park offers a free shuttle van service which is always available. Management of the park has recently changed. The new managers are Cory and Nicole. The are super. They have made several upgrades and improvements. They truly bend over backwards to accommodate. There are a number of park social events they have planned. Including a potluck Thanksgiving. Nicole is preparing the turkey. Cory and Nicole, with their two children, have put their own stamp on the park. This is a great family and pet friendly park. We have enjoyed our stay and very much look forward to our next visit.
Very mice hosts and were very nice to give us a ride to the museum near the hospital area. Very loud street noise. Bus drops you off right on front. Get the bus app and buy an all day pass on line for $3.00. Great deal and bus drivers are super friendly.
I stayed here with my husband in our own camper because he had to visit MD Anderson for his medical needs. This is a VERY nice place, very quite, peaceful, relaxing and pet friendly. The owners Dora & Ed are very nice and friendly, made you feel like you were part of their family or had known each other for years. I have nothing bad to say about this place and would highly recommend this very nice place to others. We will be going back to South Main RV Park in October as my husband has a brain surgery scheduled to take place. The neighbors were nice, quite, kept to themselves or if anyone was walking by they would smile and wave at you. It is Christian owned and I really like that because you can go to the prayer garden and you can go to worship services if you dont feel like leaving to find a near by church. We used the laundry facility and it was nice to be able to get your clothes washed without having to drive all over Houston to find a laundry mat. They have a little general store which was also nice, we bought a few bags of ice and needed a new blinker bulb for the camper which they happened to have. The rec room was nice, our RV spot was a nice shaded area which made it much more pleasant to sit outside under our awning without having the sun beat down on you. It is a gated place so no one can get in without a code which made us feel safe. They have free cable and WiFi. We absolutely love it there and though the circumstances are medical reasons we cant wait to get back. Book your stay, you wont regret it, youll love it.
