We visited the Houston zoo for the first time in about 15 years. They have made so many improvements and are still adding more exhibits. We are looking forward to seeing the new Texas wetlands exhibit, it will open this summer. We had a 9 and 15 year old with us and they enjoyed it too. The little elephant Tilly, entertained us with her playing in the mud. We can't wait to visit again.
Had a great day. The weather was overcast and so not as many people but the rain held off and it seems like the animals were happier about that too. Lots of interaction from them today. We did the giraffe feeding. Hours are 10-2 and costs $7 for 3 pieces of lettuce. Just enough time to take some quick pictures.
We had such an amazing time! Penguin prices == off during the winter months. Some animals were obviously hiding from the cold. But so many animals were happily running around. Including the cheetahs!! And elephants and giraffes and lions and so many birds. The reptile house was quite fun. Very much appreciate how much the zoo is doing to help endangered animals. Great visit!!
Amazing zoo with some amazing animals. Had a really great time there, I think we spent around 5 hours just enjoying every second of it. I think the best part was the giraffe feeding, for only $7 you can feed them and take some awesome pictures. We will certainly be back there since it is also a good place to just hang out. 5 stars zoo!
My family loves visiting the Houston Zoo! Their wide range of animals lets us have a different experience every time we go. The gorilla exhibit is a wonderful addition to the zoo. The kids love getting to watch them play and run across the huge enclosure. When we visit in the summer, we always take bathing suits to let them play at the splash pad. There are nice changing rooms so that we can put them into dry clothes before we head home.
