Beautiful water...great boat launch...problems are not enough boat/ car parking...nor launch areas There should be posted...at launch.. a map of the lake with approximate shallow water areas and general topography of the location/lake . Normally SHALLOW areas should be noted. More police patrols and cameras to protect personal property left in trucks...spare tires.coolers.truck tailgates.trailer tires...taken in prior criminal acts..per conversations with other longtime fishermen/boaters..lighted boat launch would also help deter criminal acts...Positive..great fishing..moderately clean well kept areas with no portapotties sighted..overall...enjoyed fishing and meeting other like minded people...
Good fishing, but no amenities for kids. Plenty to see here in the water.
Very peaceful and serene. Nature in the Sheldon area. Nice fishing as a side note.
This is a great state park with friendly staff. We saw lots of creatures. There were gravel walking paths and elevated trails where you can view the wetland prairie or the stocked fish ponds. We saw lots of birds, a couple of alligators in the ponds, fish and frogs. The facilities are pretty good with a nice outdoor restroom area.
I love this park. I've been coming here for about 10 or so years. It's an amazingly well kept and organized park. There are alligators so admire them and know your boundaries. Overall a great wildlife experience!
