Organized and expedient. Read the instructions on the website and you are in and out. Treat the attendants how you would like to be treated and they will speed you along.I have heard of many US citizens complain about delays at this office but think it comes down to following the instructions properly and trying to rush folks. It will not happen overnight but usually only takes a few days. My visa's have only taken a few days. My wife who is a brazilian national actually got a temporary passport in 15minutes when she realized her old one expired and she had a flight that night to sao paulo.
They operate the way things should in Brazil. Very efficient! Entire process of scheduling online to obtaining documents is very smooth. Good people working there covering all the bases of Brazilian citizens and American tourists.
