The Staff (the young lady at window #5) of the consulate general handled my request is very friendly and professional. I was in and out in very short time although I need to photo copy additional document and purchase a money order. There is a photo booth ($10) and a copy machine (50 cents/ea) in the lobby that are very convenient and fairly priced. Overall very positive experience.
Haven't had any issues. Have never spent more than 10 minutes, quickest was a few minutes. If you have all the documentation you need, there wont be any issues. Lady at the window was very helpful too, she wrote in Chinese what my boyfriend needed to send me from China. Very helpful. If you need to park, there's a lot to the right of the building. They charge $5 to park.
I am very satisfied with the service that I received from the Chinese Consulate office at Houston. They provide detailed answers to my questions via emails in-timely manner, which is very helpful for me to arranged my flight to Houston. When I did the site visit to submit my paper work, the staff helped me to check documents and edit my ID photos. I received my passport package in 2 weeks which is a week fast than the regular processing time (3-5 weeks). I was very happy when I see my new passport. In addition, my friends let me hand in their documents to the office after their interview. They received the renew passports in 3 weeks. We all appreciate the Houston office provided good and quick service.
Our authentication was fast and easy. Get there at 9 am and they will have your rush ready by 1 p.m. Make sure to have all forms typed out. Have 2 copies of your documents readily available. Keep in mind this is a China consulate. Be respectful and follow their guidelines. They will assist with information but follow their instructions. Don't park by the Star Bucks, if not you'll get towed away. There is a tow company that is watching to see who parks by Starbucks.
